Week 2 Weigh in

Went to WW tonight with sister #2 and actually gained a bit.  I knew it was coming.  I mean, I lost 11.4 lbs last week.  That can't have been actual loss.  Had to be some water issues / etc.  This week is also TOM, which, like I said yesterday has never, never been a good week for me.  I realize I'm still at the beginning of this journey (and I have a LONG journey ahead of me) so I'm taking it in stride.  I have been walking, but am starting back up at the Y tomorrow (my doc says exercise as tolerated).  Figured I'd start back with my water classes first now that everything is closed and pretty close to healed.  I'd like to add in some weights in a bit, and I really want to try some yoga.  I'm a hotdog on a stick with regards to my flexibility... as in, I have none.  In fact, when I sit on the ground with my little kids I lose circulation in my legs fairly quickly.  I'd like to "loosen things up."  Planning on starting small and working my way up.

I go tomorrow to my doc for my 2 week check up.  Will update after then.

  1. Don't worry about the gain... it happens to the best of us. You can't lose 11 lbs every week (wishful thinking!) - you are doing great, just keep it up and don't get down on yourself. I had a really hard time facing the scale (and still do) because depending on whether I am up or down, my mood for the day entirely relies on the scale. You have a great attitude and you are doing wonderfully!! xxx

  2. Well we banded together on the same day and have pretty much been in sync this entire time. I weighed today and gained also. About threw my scale against the wall, but that is just my little tantrum I have with my inner-self.

I do think that as our bodies comes out of liquids and onto more normal food, which I started Saturday this may happen. But I was upset, not expecting a gain!

I'm also going to start some mild working out tonight, I am going to attend my favorite spin class and go for 20 minutes. We shall report back next week and see if the incorporation of some exercise and broken the nasty spell.

  3. I'm confused as to why you're on Weight Watchers if you have had the lap band? I thought the guidelines/rules to the LB were pretty easy to follow... isn't it confusing to add on the WW rules too?

    1. I was doing WW with my sisters. Still going as a support system for them, and using the "official WW weigh-in" as my weekly weigh in. Yes the band rules are pretty easy to understand, but as of right now (since I'm only a few weeks out) I have no fluid in my band. So, now that I've healed, I can pretty much eat anything, almost like before surgery. Hoping this will be different after a few fills. Until then, I'm tracking all of my food through WW since I have the app on my phone and am still paying for it :-)

There are band people who still like the point systems of WW. In fact there is a whole forum dedicated to it over on lapbandtalk.com I think most of them are much much further out in the process though.
